An Engineer by profession, Mr. Rangan is one of the Promoters and Permanent Directors of Syscon Instruments Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore. At Syscon he has designed and developed Electronics Instrumentation Systems for Pressure, Force and Weigh Applications. He has pioneered Leak Test and tightness measuring systems in India. He is married to Kamakshi and has has two daughters, the younger, Vidya attends Apoorva. He is active in social welfare organizations and is a member of Karnataka Parents' Association for Mentally Retarded Citizens(KPAMRC). He holds a Physics and Mathematics degree from the University of Bangalore and a degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.

Mr. Kumaresh co-founded Society for the Autistics in India (SAI) in 1995 and was its first Hon. President. He returned to India in 1995 from Bahrain, where he was the CFO of a leading group of companies. Since 1995, he has served on the Board of Directors of Deccanet Designs Ltd, Jupiter Informatics Pvt. Ltd. & Magna Cool Engineers Pvt. Ltd. and was the Managing Director of Amit Shares & Finance Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore. He voluntarily retired from all commercial activities in 2006. In 2007 he set up Athreya Charitable Trust, a family trust, which provides funding for the primary and college education to children from very low income families. He is married to Nirmala and has two sons, Amit and Akshay. He holds a degree in Commerce from Bombay (Mumbai) University and is a Fellow Member of the Institute of the Chartered Accountants of India (FCA).
